Sacha Sides
Sacha is a PhD student in the Ross Lab interested in functional trade-offs in vertebrate evolution, especially as they relate to craniofacial morphology, feeding biomechanics, and skeletal muscle dynamics. He has previously conducted research examining the homology and morphology of the dentition in the aye-aye using microCT, diceCT, histology, and 3D geometric morphometrics. He plans to utilize methods such as kinematic analysis using XROMM, finite element modeling, and morphometrics to evaluate how adaptations in the anterior dentition of mammals influence performance.
