The Ross Lab at the University of Chicago is a collaborative community of scientist-scholars working on the biomechanics, motor control, and evolution of vertebrate feeding systems.
Our goal is to use our science to:
- increase understanding of the way feeding systems work
- alleviate clinical problems facing people and animals
- develop the careers of our community members
We believe that our science is made better by cultivating a laboratory community that:
- attends to and supports the professional goals of all of its members, collaborators and allies
- includes and welcomes a rich diversity of participants
- fosters mutually beneficial collaborations among members, collaborators and allies
- treats our experimental subjects ethically, humanely, and respectfully
